With the volume of new applications being created at a remarkable pace, we honestly become lost and unsure of the best time to get on this train that doesn’t stop at stations and doesn’t slow down for you to jump aboard. Many of us actually never get on board and are overwhelmed by the flood of complex novelties and new, intimidating terms that didn’t exist until yesterday. But then, where to start? Want a tip? Take inspiration from children.

Children are not afraid to experiment, make mistakes, or explore new things. Their naivety is their greatest catalyst for new learning. Regarding AI, I truly feel like a child: I’m experiencing something I didn’t know until yesterday, excluding science fiction works in movies and games, something I don’t quite understand how it will react according to my input, and apparently, it opens countless doors to things I don’t yet understand.

As a good project management nerd, my first impulse was to try to link simpler day-to-day practices and emulate results through ChatGPT, so I started with a classic prompt:

To me, the most incredible thing is not just the quality of the initial WBS, but the response at the end that still suggests good practices like involving the team to refine the proposed WBS.
How about taking a step further and asking for suggestions on risks we may want to observe?

Again, we have a detailed list as a very good starting point for discussion and refinement with the team of experts.

Let’s take one step further. Now I want to understand what kind of professionals I need on my team and get an estimate of their hourly rate to include the values in the initial business case.

Again, we have quite a comprehensive response with various useful information so that we can establish a solid initial business case. We have excellent starting points for the team’s work, scope refinement, and identification of project areas of concern.

How about now trying a more generic question, what would the feedback be?

What impresses me most at this point is not even the quality of the response based on decades of best practices shared on the internet in an ocean of data, but the empathy shown when the text begins with “certainly!” The implicit reading generated here is that the system is happy to share more tips, almost welcoming us with a virtual smile when we ask for help. An aspect that sometimes even we humans cannot demonstrate when asked for help.

Well, it’s better to say thank you because we never know what can happen tomorrow 😀

Inteligência Artificial – Por onde começar?

Quando há alguns anos atrás dissemos que a velocidade da informção gerada através da internet era sem precedentes, não tínhamos ideia do que estava nos esperando em 2022, quando IA se tornasse uma ferramenta acessível ao nível de usuários finais, como eu e você. Um breve parentes aqui apens para retificar o quanto a palavra “ferramenta” empregada na frase anterior é uma imensa subdescrição do real poder do uso de IA.

Com o volume de novas aplicações send criadas à uma velocidade assombrosa, ficamos honestamente perdidos e sem saber qual a melhor hora para embarcar nesse trem que não pára em estações e não desacelera para que você pule abordo. Muitos de nós acabam na verdade nunca embarcando e são afogados pela enxurrada de novidade complexas e de novos e assustadores termos que até ontem não existiam. Mas então, por onde começar? Quer uma dica? Se inspire nas crianças.

As crianças não tem medo de experimentar, errar ou tocar coisas novas. Sua ingenuidade é seu maior catalisador para novos aprendizados. Com relação a IA eu me sinto verdadeiramente como uma criança: estou experimentando algo que não conhecia até ontem, excluindo obras de ficção científica em filmes e games, algo que não entendo bem como vai reagir de acordo com meu input e que aparentemente abre inúmeras portas pra coisas que nem entendo ainda.

Como um bom nerd em gestão de projetos, meu primeiro impulso foi tentar vincular práticas mais simples do dia a dia e emular resultados pelo ChatGPT, então comecei por um prompt (comando) clássico:

Novamente temos uma lista detalhada e a partir de um ponto muito bom para então ser discutida e refinada com o time de especialistas.

Vamos dar um passo a mais. Quero agora entender que tipo de profissionais preciso na minha equipe e com uma estimativa da sua taxa horária para então incluir os valores no business case inicial.

Novamente temos uma resposta bastante completa, com várias informações úteis para que possamos estabelecer um business case inicial sólido. Temos esxcelentes pontos de partida para o trabalho da equipe, refino do escopo e identificação de pontos de atenção no projeto.

Que tal agora experimentarmos uma pergunta mais genérica, qual seria o feedback?

O que mais me impressiona neste ponto não é nem a qualidade da resposta baseada em décadas de boas práticas que estão compartilhadas na internet, em um oceano de dados, mas a empatia mostrada quando o texto começa com “certainly!”. A leitura implícita gerada aqui é que o sistema extá feliz em compartilhar mais dicas, praticamente nos recebendo com um sorriso virtual quando pedimos por ajuda. Um aspecto que às vezes nem nós humanos conseguimos demonstrar quando solicitados.
